Trailblazer Pipeline Launch Underscores What’s at Stake for Farmers

URBANDALE, Iowa (Oct. 8, 2025) – American Carbon Alliance CEO Tom Buis issued the following statement in response to the first volumes of  CO₂ being captured in Nebraska’s Trailblazer Pipeline:

“The first CO₂ shipment through Nebraska’s Trailblazer pipeline shows that carbon capture and utilization is no longer a future concept, it’s happening now. States embracing this technology are building new markets for ethanol, creating jobs, spurring rural economies, and raising corn prices which help farmers stay in business.

States that block this progress risk falling behind. If ethanol plants can’t meet low-carbon standards, corn prices drop, rural jobs vanish, economic growth shifts elsewhere and farmers suffer the consequences. Nebraska is moving forward. Others must decide whether to lead or get left behind.”
