American Carbon Alliance CEO Tom Buis submitted a letter to the Iowa Utilities Commission urging the Commission to establish a procedural schedule and move the Summit Carbon Solutions permit process forward.
In the letter, Buis highlights the economic challenges facing Iowa farmers, the need for greater market certainty, and the opportunities carbon capture infrastructure can create for ethanol, sustainable aviation fuel, and new sources of corn demand.
“As farmers continue to face difficult economic conditions, Iowa cannot afford unnecessary delays that create more uncertainty for rural communities and agricultural businesses,” Buis wrote.
