Tom Buis Statement on House Passage of Year-Round E15 Legislation
DES MOINES, Iowa (May 14, 2026) – American Carbon Alliance CEO Tom Buis released the following statement after the U.S. House passed legislation allowing year-round sales of E15 nationwide:
“Yesterday’s House vote to allow year-round sales of E15 is a positive step forward for consumers, farmers, and American energy. Permanent access to E15 provides drivers with a lower-cost fuel option while supporting rural economies and strengthening demand for American-grown biofuels.
“We encourage the Senate to move quickly and send this legislation to the President’s desk. Farmers and fuel producers need certainty, not another summer of temporary waivers and uncertainty.
“We’re also continuing to see new opportunities for biofuels beyond the roadway. This week, Maersk completed a vessel voyage powered entirely by ethanol, another sign that American biofuels can help meet growing global demand for lower-carbon energy solutions.”
