ACA Urges Congress to Advance the Securing America’s Fuels Act

This week, American Carbon Alliance CEO Tom Buis sent a letter to Members of Congress urging support for the bipartisan Securing America’s Fuels Act, legislation that would restore the full $1.75 clean fuel production credit for sustainable aviation fuel under Section 45Z and extend it through 2033

The timing matters. Rural America is under real financial pressure, and while disaster payments may be necessary in the short term, they are not a long-term strategy. As the letter makes clear, farmers do not want bailouts. They want markets.

Restoring the full value of 45Z and providing long-term certainty would unlock private investment, strengthen demand for American-grown crops, and create durable economic opportunity across rural communities. Sustainable aviation fuel production is already driving job creation, infrastructure development, and new demand for corn, without relying on taxpayer-funded aid.

The Securing America’s Fuels Act represents a rare bipartisan opportunity to move away from reactive policy and toward market-driven growth that benefits farmers, producers, and rural economies. ACA strongly supports this legislation and urges Congress to move quickly to advance it.
