Global Carbon Reduction Opportunities for U.S. Ethanol Producers

The U.S. Grains Council, an ACA member, is constantly working toward developing new markets for U.S. ethanol and corn, working to implement pro-biofuels policies, encouraging trade, and providing information and education to global partners.

They have recently developed important information regarding the Carbon Index (CI) Score for various countries across the globe.

As you can plainly see, in order for U.S. producers to break into new global markets, it will take lowering the CI score. Whether we like it or not, both states and countries around the world are setting new parameters on carbon and what types of energy sources are used. If we don’t find a way to bring biofuels into that conversation, American farmers will be left behind and countries like Brazil will fill the void.
