The American Carbon Alliance has formally endorsed the SPEED Act, bipartisan legislation from Chairman Bruce Westerman and Congressman Jared Golden that would finally bring clarity, accountability, and timeliness to the federal permitting process.
For farmers, ethanol producers, and rural communities, permitting reform isn’t a D.C. talking point — it’s the difference between projects moving forward or stalling out. Carbon capture, CO₂ pipelines, next-generation ethanol and SAF facilities, and other major investments all depend on a system that provides certainty instead of delay.
That’s why ACA joined a broad national coalition in supporting the SPEED Act. The bill sets clearer timelines, streamlines reviews, and gives businesses the predictability they need to invest, innovate, and strengthen America’s energy leadership.

We appreciate the bipartisan leadership behind this effort and will continue working with Congress to advance real, durable permitting reform for America’s farmers and rural economy.
