Corn, LP Ethanol Plant Joins American Carbon Alliance
URBANDALE, Iowa (Nov.17, 2023) – Today the American Carbon Alliance (ACA) announced that Corn, LP Ethanol Plant in Goldfield, Iowa, has joined as members of the ACA.
“We’re happy to partner with the American Carbon Alliance as they work to build support for carbon capture projects across the Midwest. We know that these new technologies will be transformational for the ethanol industry and we are excited to be a part of it,” said Chris Boshart, Chief Executive Officer of Corn, LP. “The market is demanding a lower carbon footprint for all industries and by lowering our carbon footprint, ethanol will have increased opportunities in the production of sustainable aviation fuel and higher blends in the marketplace.”
Earlier this year, the Iowa Renewable Fuels Association released a report on the Comparative Economics of Carbon Sequestration for Iowa Ethanol Plants which states, “Ethanol production in the state of Iowa has brought tens of billions of dollars in increased economic activity to the state and has been a significant factor in the rise in net farm cash income for Iowa’s farmers.” Lowering ethanol’s carbon index will produce even more market demand for ethanol.
Corn, LP joins other ethanol plants and several state Corn Grower Associations, Growth Energy, Renewable Fuels Association, the American Coalition for Ethanol, the Iowa Renewable Fuels Association, the Iowa Corn Growers Association, the Renew Kansas Biofuels Association, and the North and South Dakota Ethanol Producers Associations as members of the American Carbon Alliance.
“When we look at rural America, we know there is no greater economic opportunity on the horizon than the development of new markets for ethanol once we lower the carbon index score through carbon capture technologies,” said Tom Buis, CEO of the American Carbon Alliance. “We’re proud to have Corn, LP helping to lead the way.”
